The Star 29 Jan 2025 Lifestyle Section cover story
This year marks a rather significant milestone in my journey—I've been featured in The Star, our esteemed local mainstream media! It’s a small personal achievement, but one that holds great meaning for me. After all, navigating a field like Chinese metaphysics for the past decade hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park. In a society where the norm is to secure a corporate job and climb the ladder, I somehow decided to take the elevator… except it was out of order, and I had to build my own stairs.
Before this, I spent over 15 years in the corporate world, managing the Asia market—including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China—for a multinational corporation. But as a Chinese person who neither reads nor writes Chinese (yes, a classic banana 🍌), I always felt a certain disconnect from my roots. That was until I stumbled upon Chinese metaphysics. What started as curiosity soon turned into a full-fledged practice, and I haven’t looked back since.
Then came 2020—yes, thanks to COVID—and the unexpected push into content creation. What began as a daily YouTube sharing session at 7:30 AM turned into a relentless four-year streak without a single break. That phase gave me the perfect training ground to refine my, let’s say, “limited” public speaking skills. Today, people tell me I can talk naturally for hours… but trust me, you weren’t there when I could barely string a sentence together!
To everyone who has been on this journey with me—your unwavering support means the world. A huge THANK YOU for sticking around, encouraging, and growing with me. If you’d like to read the full article, you can check it out here:
